Glenn L. Judd, Sr., age 80, resident of Somerville and husband of the late Dianne Judd, departed this life Wednesday evening, November 14, 2018 at his residence.
A Funeral Service with Masonic Rites for Mr. Judd was held at 3 P.M. Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Josh McClurkan officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Judd was born February 7, 1938 in Russell Springs, Kentucky. He received his education in Jamestown and Russell Springs, Kentucky and served his country in the United States Navy for 19 years before his retirement in 1985. He was also employed as an aircraft mechanic for Federal Express before his retirement in 1998 and was married November 17, 1970 to the former Hazel Dianne Lindemood. Mr. Judd was a member of the Santa Rosa, Florida Masonic Lodge # 57 and enjoyed restoring antique cars and woodworking.
Mr. Judd is survived by two daughters, Glenda “Lynn” Judd Dudas (Michael) of Somerville, TN, Justyne Louise Hoogland (Dale) of Seward, AK; his son, Glenn Judd, Jr. (Amanda) of Munford, TN; two sisters, Brenda Carol Coner (Charles) of Nancy, KY, Mildred Ann Porter (Earl) of Guin, AL; seven grandchildren, Ben, Travis, Shelby, Caitlin, Josh, Amanda, Wyatt; and four great-grandchildren, Samantha Dianne, Anna Leigh Mae, Tristen Glenn Joshua Bailey and Mason Carter Curtright.
He was preceded in death by his wife who died September 19, 2018, Hazel Dianne Lindemood Judd; his parents, Glenn J. Judd and Maggie Louise Barnes Judd; and four brothers, David Ray Judd, Johnny Dale Judd, Edward Judd and Kenneth Lynn Judd.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Glenn L. Judd, Jr., Buck German, Josh Curtright, Don Sykes, Michael Dudas and Steve Roberts. Honorary pallbearers were Bit Melvin, Crash Craddock, Tommy Copeland, Charlie McElwee, Sput Garnett, Larry Lewis and Alec Harvey.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Shiloh United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2725 Yum Yum Road, Somerville, TN 38068.
