Gordon Neal Kirk

Gordon Neal Kirk, age 89, resident of Oakland and husband of the late Dera Ann Dunn Kirk, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, December 8, 2015 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.
A Gathering of Family Members and Friends of Mr. Kirk will be Friday, January 22, 2016 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Interment will be private. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Kirk was born January 6, 1926 in Dalton, Georgia. He received his education in the Whitfield County, Georgia School System. He moved to the Arlington area in 1969 and then to Oakland in 1993. Mr. Kirk was employed as a truck operator for Roadway Express before his retirement and he enjoyed golfing and watching NASCAR.
Mr. Kirk is survived by his daughter, Patti Cale of Dalton, Georgia; four sons, Chip Kirk of Dalton, Georgia, Jeff Kirk of Dalton, Georgia, Rodney Kirk of Arlington, Tennessee, Ronnie B. Pate of Eads, Tennessee; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dera Ann Dunn Kirk who died January 21, 2014; his parents, Troy G. Kirk and Margaret Gurly Kirk; three brothers and one sister.
