Guy Waymon Kelley
January 11, 1944 — February 21, 2017
Guy W. Kelley, age 73, resident of Mason and husband of Lorene Pattat Kelley, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, February 21, 2017 at the Methodist North Hospital in Raleigh, Tennessee.
Services of Remembrance for Guy were conducted at 10 A.M. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Jim Perry, pastor of the Family Worship Center in Moscow, officiating. Personal remarks were given by Shane Porter. Interment followed in the Belmont Cemetery in the Belmont Community of Fayette County. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Guy was born January 11, 1944 in Covington, Kentucky and attended the Shelby and Fayette County, Tennessee School Systems. He was employed in early life as an electrician for F & M Electric in Memphis, Tennessee. Later, he owned his own business and shop as a truck mechanic located on Highway 59 in Mason, Tennessee.
Guy was of the Methodist faith and attended the Belmont United Methodist Church. He enjoyed outdoor activities that included hunting, fishing and riding horses. He will be remembered as a people-person who cherished the special times with his family members and friends.
Guy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lorene Pattat Kelley of Mason, TN; his son, Chris Kelley (Christy) of Atoka, TN; his daughter, Stacy Kelley Becker (Darin) of Arlington, TN; two sisters, Judy Rogers (Marvin) of Mason, TN, Carole Willwerth (Mike) of Mason, TN; six grandsons, John Kelley, Christopher Kelley, Jake Becker, Jesse Becker, Saxton Kelley, Austin Kelley; two granddaughters, Chelsea Pauley, Tonya Kelley; five great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tony Kelley; his parents, Guy and Viola Mills Kelley; two brothers, W.H. Kelley and Barry Kelley; and his sister, Joyce Roberts.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were David Lewis, Darrin Doyle, Shane Porter, Bob McIntyre, Kelley Willwerth and Darell Kelley.
