Harold Nathaniel (H.N.) Alberson, age 84, resident of the Somerville Community and husband of Carol Alberson, departed this life Friday afternoon, March 11, 2016 at his residence.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Alberson were conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, March 14, 2016 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Interment followed in the Arlington City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Alberson was born February 19, 1932 in Stanton, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nat and Fannie Alberson. He was a graduate of Fayette County High School and served his country in the United States Air Force as a young person. He was married July 2, 1960 to the former Carol Seward and was employed at Memphis Light Gas & Water for 30 ½ years before his retirement in 1990. He raised Black Angus cattle for 50 years and beagles for many years. Mr. Alberson was a member of the Gallaway Baptist Church and hunting was a favorite pastime. In the past several years, he took great pleasure in meeting his friends for coffee at the Teague Store Gas Station in the Warren Community.
Mr. Alberson is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Seward Alberson of Somerville; his daughter, Robin Brown (Rick) of Hornsby; his son, Barry Alberson (Lisa) of Hickory Withe; 5 grandchildren, Kristi Brown of Arlington, Toni Leggett (Chris) of Senatobia, MS, Adam Brown of Hornsby, Sarah and Mitchell Alberson of Hickory Withe; and four great grandchildren, Cody, Kayle and Joshua Simpson and Brantley Leggett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Weldon, Troy and Larkey Alberson and three sisters, Willie Mae Ray, Cloyce White and Ruby Kelly.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Mitchell Alberson, Adam Brown, Matt Lawler, Ronnie Alberson, Marty Seward, Vic Lowery, Chris Leggett and Judd Lindsey. Honorary pallbearers were Martin Seward, Jay Lindsey, Dean Roe, David Dotson and Clif Seward.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Gallaway Baptist Church, 377 Main Street, Gallaway, TN 38036 or charity of the donor’s choice.
