Hazel Beatrice (Michael) Wells

November 4, 1919 — March 10, 2013

Hazel Beatrice Michael Wells, age 93, resident of Grand Valley Lakes in Hardeman County departed this life Sunday afternoon, March 10, 2013 at the Pine Meadows Health Care Center in Bolivar.

Services for Mrs. Wells will be at 2 Thursday afternoon, March 14, 2013 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with visitation two hours before services. Interment will be in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64.

Mrs. Wells was born November 4, 1919 in Booneville, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Alford Michael and Colie Jones Michael. She received her education in the Booneville, Mississippi Public School System and was married to Theodore "Bill" Kimble Wells, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Wells was a waitress for the Dobbs House for 40 years before her retirement 30 years ago. She was a member of the Wells Station Baptist Church and lived in the Grand Valley Lakes Community of Hardeman County for the last six years.

Mrs. Wells is survived by her daughter, Diane Sciara (Pete) of Saulsbury; two sons, Neil Oswalt (Vader) of Savannah, TN, James Michael Wells of Saulsbury; her sister, Christine Turner of Brighton, TN; 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wells was preceded in death by a daughter; three sons, Bobby Oswalt, Jimmy Wells, Butch Wells; one sister, Alene Jernigan; and three brothers, Howard Michael, Gene Michael and Billy Jo Michael.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers will be Johnny Oswalt, Scottie McAlister, Shane Bowen, Brad Glover, Justin Tamboli and David Franks.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090.
