HELEN LOIS WHITE ROBERSON, a resident of the Somerville Community and wife of Harry H. Roberson died at 12:44 P.M. Saturday August 8 2009 at her home on Highway 76 North. She was 57 years of age and died following a two-year illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Roberson were conducted at 10 A.M. Tuesday, August 11th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Larry West, Pastor of the Eagle Ministry House of Prayer Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment followed in the Liberty Baptist Cemetery at Laconia. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.
Mrs. Roberson was born October 5, 1951 in Mount Pleasant, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Hubert Earl Willyard and the late Fannie Elizabeth Wilson Willyard.
She was educated in the Collierville Public School System and was a former resident of the Collierville and Williston Communities before moving to the Somerville area.
She was a homemaker throughout much of her life and was a member of the Eagle Ministry House of Prayer in District 15.
Mrs. Roberson will be remembered as a devoted Christian who enjoyed antiques, flower gardening, traveling and serving as fishing and hunting companion to her husband.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Roberson is survived by her daughter, Melissa Kitchens (Coy) of Holly Springs, MS; her son, Tobey Joyner (Joy) of Hickory Withe; two sisters, Nancy Knaggs (Ron) of Kansas City, KS and Judy Simek (Larry) of Arlington; three brothers: Woody White (Bobbie) of Gulfport, MS; Ricky Willyard (Lori) of Collinsville, AL and Danny Willyard (Tracey) of Fort Payne, AL; four grandchildren: Sarah Bryant (Zack) of Oakland; Danielle Pieper (Jaime) of Lamar, MS; Caleb Kitchens of Holly Springs, MS and Seth Joyner of Eads; one great-grandchild, Landon Pieper; six step-children: Harry F. Roberson (Donna), Mary Lois Frase, Judy Eubanks (Sammy), Trudy Davenport (Eddie), David Roberson (Glenda) and Jeanine Newsom and a host of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers were family members and friends.
