Helen Ruth Swain, age 91, peacefully passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 in her apartment in Memphis, Tennessee.

Helen was born November 3, 1930, the third child to Abner and Ree Swain. In 1941, Helen gave her life to Christ at Bartlett Baptist Church. After she graduated from Bartlett High School and Union University where she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority , she went on to be a teacher and retired as an instructor of x-ray technicians at Baptist Hospital in Memphis. Over the years, she devoted her life to her family who fondly called her Baby and Granny Baby, and to her church where she went on mission trips and supported her church family.

Miss Swain is survived by her niece, Sandra Swain; two great nieces, Cheri Hagen (Steve) and Terri Hardison (Chad); her great nephew, Charles R. Swain Jr. (Alberta); four great great nieces and three great great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Swain; her brother, Charles A. Swain; her sister-in-law, Fay Seward Swain; and two nephews, Charles R. Swain and Norman T. Swain.

Graveside Services for Miss Swain were held at 1 P.M. Monday, January 10, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis with Brother Michael Priest officiating.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Bartlett Baptist Church, 3465 Kirby Whitten Road, Bartlett, TN 38135.
