Henry Feathers

Charles Henry Feathers, Sr. , a resident of the Williston Community in Fayette County and former employee of the Rube Rhea Farms in Somerville departed this life Friday morning March 2, 2012 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. He was 62 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Feathers were conducted at 1 PM Tuesday, March 6 th at the Morris Chapel Baptist Church near Somerville. The officiating ministers were Rev. John Ed Watkins, pastor of the church, and Rev. Tony Watkins of Moscow, who is a nephew of Mr. Feathers. Interment followed at the Hood Cemetery in the Warren Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

A native of the Moscow Community, Mr. Feathers was born April 4, 1949. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie Feathers and Lucille Feathers. He received his education in the Fayette County School System and was married in 1985 to the former Contrinna (Tina) Molands, who survives.

Mr. Feathers was a member of the Morris Chapel Baptist Church and was a resident of Fayette County for much of his life. He will be remembered for his love of nature, hunting and fishing. Mr. Feathers and other family members were employed by the Rube Rhea Farms in Fayette County and many Fayette Countians will remember Mr. Feathers for transporting horses to the Ames Plantation at Grand Junction for the annual Bird Dog Field Trials. He also enjoyed dancing and music as long as health permitted.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Feathers leaves one daughter, Lisa Diane Feathers of Marion AR; two sons, Charles Henry Feathers, Jr. and Phoenix Feathers both of Marion, AR; six sisters, Elizabeth “Liz” Cannon and Carol Henry, both of Somerville, Stella Watkins of Moscow, Bennie Tice of Oakland, Linda Dyer of Holly Springs, MS, and Beverly Hubert of Texas; one brother, Edward “Ed” Feathers of Somerville; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Watkins and three brothers, Tom Feathers, Bill Feathers and Calvin Feathers.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Troy Thompson, Bobby Bing, David Berretta, Samuel Watkins, Kenny Kyser and Randy Watkins. Honorary pallbearers were Rob Morrill, Benny Byrom, Timmy Byrom, Timmy Thompson, Lee Harrold, Bubba Weaver and Mickey Berretta.
