Hershel Freddie Hensley

Hershel Freddie Hensley, age 68, resident of the Somerville Community and husband of Barbara Hensley, departed this life Tuesday morning, June 2, 2015 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Hensley were conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, June 8th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Dr. Kenneth Culver, pastor of Warren Community Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Hensley was born April 2, 1947 in Hohenwald, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Hensley and Sue Quinlen Hensley. He received his education in the Lewis County Public School System and was the married for 25 years to the former Barbara Jo Pinner, who survives. Mr. Hensley was a resident of the Somerville Community for many years and was a member of the Warren Community Church. He was employed for many years as a radiology laboratory technician at Morris Clinic in Somerville before his retirement. He was an avid University of Alabama fan, enjoyed hummingbirds and his three little dogs he affectionately called his “little girls”.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Hensley is survived by his son, Clark Hensley (Joyce) of Somerville; stepdaughter, Bridget Moore of Houston, Texas; his stepson, Brian Baskin (Denise) of Dickson, TN; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Warren Community Church, 11800 U.S. Highway 64, Somerville, TN 38068.
