Hilda (Cole) Lindsey

Hilda Cole Lindsey, resident of the Gallaway Community and wife of the late Fred Lindsey, departed this life Monday morning, April 28, 2014 at the Gallaway HealthCare Center. She was 85 years of age and died following a brief illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Lindsey are incomplete. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Lindsey was born January 2, 1929 in Tiptonville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Ted Cole and Dillie Opal Adams Cole. She received her education in the Lake County, Tennessee Public School System and moved at an early age to Fayette County where she had resided for much of her life.

Mrs. Lindsey was of the Christian faith and attended the Gallaway First Baptist Church as long as health permitted. She had been employed by various area manufacturing companies before her retirement and was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lindsey and was a resident of the Gallaway Community for many years before entering the Gallaway HealthCare Center. Mrs. Lindsey will be remembered for her work ethic and her love of fishing, flowers and nature.

Mrs. Lindsey is survived by two daughters, Patricia Fisher (Dwayne) of Kenton, TN, Judy Ann Wroten of Greenfield, TN; her brother, Danny Cole of Senatobia, MS; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
