Houston Eugene Kee

Houston Eugene Kee, age 72, resident of Somerville and husband of Thelma Thompson Kee, departed this life Tuesday evening, February 21, 2017 at the Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Kee were conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Carl Doyle of Oakland officiating. He was assisted by Rev. John Sartelle, pastor of the Christ Presbyterian Church in Somerville. Interment followed in the Asbury Cemetery in Somerville. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Kee was born February 23, 1944 in Oakland, Tennessee. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and was employed as a press operator at the Carrier Corporation for 40 years before his retirement. He was a lifelong resident of Fayette County and was a member of the Mercy Bridge Church in Somerville. Mr. Kee enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, gardening and special times with his family.

Mr. Kee is survived by his wife, Thelma Thompson Kee of Somerville, TN; three daughters, Amy Kee Shelby of Somerville, TN, Tammy Eugenia Dunn (Al) of Bartlett, TN, Tina Ree Sullivan (John Sydney) of Macon, TN; two sisters, Helen Conner of Oakland, TN, Velma Thompson (Wilmer) of Oakland, TN; his brother, Johnny Kee of Bolivar, TN; seven grandchildren, David Dunn, Corey Holley, Alysun Garrett, Colby Shelby, Adam Houston Dunn, Will Cagle, Sydney Sullivan; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Houston Kee and Velma Ree McQueen Kee and his brother, Bobby Kee.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Wilmer Ray Thompson, Ben Thompson, Chris Kee, Jason Kee, Webb Kee, Alan Kee, Ethan Thompson and Jerry Lee Howard. Honorary pallbearers were Wilmer Thompson, Donald Ferge, Norman Kee, Jr., Kel Blanton, Marvin Ferge and Charlie Price, Jr.
