Howard Smith Ainsworth, age 81, resident of Arlington, Tennessee and husband of the late Dorothy “Dotti” Albright Ainsworth, departed this life Wednesday morning, January 3, 2024 at the Memphis Jewish Home in Cordova, Tennessee.
Howard was born March 8, 1942 in Pascagoula, Mississippi, the son of the late Oyd Ainsworth and Onita Smith Ainsworth. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree at the University of Mississippi, “Ole Miss”, in Oxford and was married August 22, 1979 to Dorothy “Dotti” Albright Ainsworth, who preceded him in death on May 17, 2020.
Mr. Ainsworth was employed as an electrical engineer for the Tennessee Valley Authority for many years before his retirement. He enjoyed Ole Miss football, traveling, genealogy, technology, fast cars and motorcycles.
Mr. Ainsworth is survived by three daughters, Nicole Kloek (Scott), Neysha Ainsworth (Jay) and Pam Jones (Rick); two sons, Gregg Ainsworth (Jodi) and Bobby Pierce; eight grandchildren, Chris Jones, Gabriel Ainsworth, Graham Kloek, Andrew Kloek, Ashton Ainsworth, Andrew Pierce, Andrea Pierce and Angie Tingle; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. Ainsworth were held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, January 7, 2024 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Eddie Bromley officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Chris Jones, Graham Kloek, Andrew Kloek, Rick Jones, Louis Woodward and Scott Kloek.
