IVA BEASON MATHEWS, a resident of Cordova and wife of the late Vinton Lee Mathews died at 10:45 P.M., Friday, November 23, 2007 at her Cordova residence. She was 93 years of age and died following a brief illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mathews were conducted at 3:30 P.M. Tuesday, November 27th at the Pollard Chapel of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis with her grandson, Bryan Mathews, an ordained minister, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Hwy. 64 near Oakland. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home-West Chapel.
Mrs. Mathews was born August 12, 1914 in Franklin County, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Beason and Beulah Francis Beason. She was the wife of the late Vinton Lee Mathews, who died August 9, 2003.
Mrs. Mathews was a homemaker throughout her life and was a member of the Bellevue Baptist Church. She had been a resident of Cordova for the past six and a half years.
Survivors of Mrs. Mathews include her son, Kenneth Mathews and wife Phyllis of Cordova; 3 brothers, Eugene and Everett Beason, both of California and Ethan Beason of Arkansas; two grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
The family request that Memorials be directed to the Love Offering Fund of the Bellevue Baptist Church, 2000 Appling Rd., Cordova, TN 38016.
