Ivy May Dorrington-Bousman, resident of the Oakland Community and native of England died Monday evening, January 7, 2013 at the Rainbow Health Care Center in Bartlett. She was 82 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Bousman will be conducted at 4 P.M. Saturday, January 12th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Personal remarks and reflections with selected music will be given by family members of Mrs. Bousman. A Private Interment will be in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. A visitation for Mrs. Bousman will be from 2 until 4 Saturday afternoon at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.
A native of St. Briavels, England, Mrs. Bousman was born January 29, 1930. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick Dorrington and Amy Meredith Dorrington. She was a homemaker throughout much of her life and was a Catholic. She was devoted to her family and was proud of her British heritage.
Ms. Bousman is survived by two daughters, Suzanna Butler of Oakland, Violet Utley of Hughes, AR; eight grandchildren including Hollie Wallace of Bartlett, Jennifer Shupe of Bartlett, Shannon Free of Prairie Grove, AR, Cassie Crissafulli of Camarillo, CA, Kellie Grace of Memphis; three nephews, Tommy Jackson of Horn Lake, MS, Walter Jackson of Memphis, Michael Jackson of Piperton; and 16 great grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
