Jack Sherman Hubert, resident of the Hornsby Community in Hardeman County with extended family members in Fayette County and retired from the asbestos construction industry died Wednesday morning, October 26, 2011 at his residence. He was 65 years of age and died following an extended illness.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Hubert was conducted at 3 P.M. Sunday, October 30th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with a relative, Pastor Roy Lynn Ditto officiating. Family interment will be in the Edith Cemetery in Lauderdale County near Ripley, TN. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Hubert was born November 3, 1945 in Los Angeles, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Hubert and Evelyn Stephens Hubert. He received his education in the California Public School System and had been a resident of Tennessee since 1966. He was a member of the Memphis Union Local #90 and had been employed in the asbestos construction business for over 25 years before retiring for health reasons. Mr. Hubert was a Christian and will be remembered as an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed deer hunting in earlier years.
Mr. Hubert is survived by his daughter, Carla Watts (John) of Hornsby; two sons, Jack Sherman Hubert, Jr. (Kay) of Two Rivers, WI, Timothy Scott Hamblen of Hornsby; his brother, Aaron Pugsley of Bono, AR; seven grandchildren, Lacey, Kasey, Alexis, Caitlyn, Dustin, Jazmin, Tony; one great granddaughter; and his longtime companion, Shirley Booker Vaughn of Hornsby.

American Cancer Society, Farmers and Merchants Bank, P.O. Box 507, Bolivar, TN 38008.
