JACKIE "JACK" WILFRED HAYNIE, resident of the Liberty Community in Fayette County and retired Heavy Equipment Operator
died Thursday morning, April 22, 2010 at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. He was 67 years of age and died following a brief illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Haynie were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, April 24th at the Liberty Baptist Church near Laconia with Rev. Jim Whitley, Pastor of the church officiating. Interment followed in the Liberty Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Haynie was born in Ringgold, LA on April 2, 1943. In was preceded in death by his parents James Wilfred Haynie and Nellie Irene Herrington Haynie. Mr. Haynie was educated in the Louisiana Public School System and was a former resident of Louisiana before moving to Fayette County two years ago. He was an self employed Heavy Equipment Operator for over 30 years before his recent retirement.
Mr. Haynie was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and throughout his life enjoyed rodeos and working with horses.
Survivors of Mr. Haynie include two daughters: Jacquelyn Smith and Jessica Stewart both of Haughton, LA; step-daughter Jennifer Sawyer of Atlanta, GA; two sons: Jason Haynie of Walker, LA and Jarred Haynie of Nacogdoches, TX; two sisters; Virginia Bogan of Shreveport, LA and Melba King of Troup, TX; two brothers; Leon Haynie of Minden, LA and Keith Haynie of Magnolia, AR; two granddaughters, three grandsons and two great grandsons.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers included Shane Crawford, Jamie Garrison, Jordan Gilreath, Jeffery Pattat and Matt Obeid.
