JACKIE HARRISON MURPHY

April 2, 1957 — December 8, 2009

JACKIE HARRISON MURPHY, a resident of the Toone Community in Hardeman County and a self-employed Residential and Commercial Painter before his illness died Tuesday morning, December 8, 2009 at his residence. He was 52 years of age and died following a nine-month illness.

A Service of Remembrance for Mr. Murphy was held at 3 P.M. Saturday, December 19th at the Reaves United Methodist Church at Middleton, Tennessee with a visitation at the church one hour prior to services. Interment followed in the Reaves United Methodist Church Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.

A native of Jackson, Tennessee, Mr. Murphy was born April 2, 1957. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison Boman Murphy and Betty Jane Davis Murphy.

He received his education in the Hardeman and Shelby County Public School Systems and was a former resident of Memphis. He was a self-employed Painting Contractor for much of his life before retiring for health reasons.

He was of the Baptist faith and had been a resident of Hardeman County for thirty-eight years.

A people-person, Mr. Murphy enjoyed socializing with friends and family.

Survivors of Mr. Murphy include four brothers: Michael Murphy of Collierville; Jerry Murphy of Arlington; Danny Murphy of Barberton, OH and Larry B. Murphy of Middleton.
