Jacob Austin

Michael “Jacob” Austin, age 40, resident of Cordova, Tennessee, United States Air Force Veteran, father of two sons, and husband to Starr Jewel Austin departed this life Wednesday afternoon, August 29, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

A Funeral Service for Jacob was held at 11 A.M. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.  Interment with Military Honors followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Jacob was born June 25, 1978 in Memphis, Tennessee. He attended Gateway Christian Schools and was a graduate of Wooddale High School. He attended Bartlett First Assembly of God and recently rededicated his life to Christ. Jacob was married October 14, 2000 to the former Starr Jewel Hughes and was an avid hunter and trained in self-defense.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Starr Jewel Austin of Cordova, Tennessee; his two sons, Noah Jacob Austin and Jacob Riley Austin, and his mother and stepfather, Diane Austin Kelso and Richard of Oakland, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Joe Austin of Cordova, Tennessee.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Doug Hollandsworth, Sean Coleman, Tim Tucker, Ed Figueroa, Ralph Owen and Joe Pendino.
