Mr. James Boyd Chambers, age 73, resident of the Rossville Community, self-employed car wash and laundry shop owner and husband of Connie Baxter Chambers died Thursday evening, November 17, 2011 at his residence. Services for Mr. Chambers were conducted at 2 Monday afternoon at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with interment in the Bethlehem Cemetery near Moscow.

Mr. Chambers was born August 28, 1938 in Rossville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Waller Chambers and Nona Marie Carpenter Chambers. He received his education in the Shelby County Public School System and graduated from Collierville High School.

Mr. Chambers married the former Connie Baxter on October 16, 1956 and they lived in Rossville their entire life. He was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church and served his country in the United States Army Reserves. Mr. Chambers will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, deer hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Chambers is survived by his daughter, Suzette Chambers Moore of Germantown; two sons, J.B. Chambers, Jr. of Rossville, John L. Chambers (Doris) of Rossville; and his brother, Milton "Bubba" Chambers (Etna) of Moscow. Mr. Chambers was preceded in death by his brother, Leslie B. Chambers.
