James C. Crunk, age 68, resident of the Hickory Withe Community and retired welder died Friday evening, November 2, 2012 at the Methodist Hospital in Somerville.
Graveside Services for Mr. Crunk will be at 2 P.M. Tuesday at the Bethuel Cemetery in the Kerrville Community of Shelby County. A visitation for Mr. Crunk will be from 1:30 until 2 P.M. Tuesday at the Bethuel Cemetery. Arrangements will be provided by the Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Crunk was born September 5, 1944 in Millington. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Carroll Crunk and Katie Louella Dunn Crunk. He received his education in the Millington Public School System and was employed as an independent pipefitting and welding contractor for much of his life before his retirement 10 years ago.
A Christian, Mr. Crunk enjoyed fishing and vegetable gardening. He was a lifelong resident of the Shelby, Tipton and Fayette Counties.
Mr. Crunk is survived by his daughter, Lorna Renee Burton and her husband, Mark Burton of Searcy, AR; three sisters, Wilma Velpel of Hickory Withe, Pam Carter of Munford, Anita Batson of Hampstead, North Carolina; and three grandchildren, Kate Lynn Burton, Mason Burton and Isabella Burton, all of Searcy, AR.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.
