James Calvin Henley

Mr. James Calvin Henley, resident of Somerville and retired aircraft serviceman for the City of Phoenix, AZ, died Tuesday morning at National HealthCare in Somerville, where he had been a patient for 4 weeks. He was 84 years old and died following an extended illness.

Services with Military Honors for Mr. Henley will be at 2 Friday afternoon at Peebles Main Funeral Chapel of Somerville. Interment will be in Old Union Cemetery at Laconia. There will be a visitation for Mr. Henley from 12:30 to 2 Friday afternoon at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel of Somerville.

James was born September 28, 1926 in Memphis to the late Thomas Byron Henley and the late Nona Elizabeth Boyd Henley. A Christian, he was a member of the Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served his country in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946.

He married the late Bonnie Reed Henley, who preceded him in death. Mr. Henley was a graduate of Fayette County High School and retired as an aircraft serviceman for the City of Phoenix, AZ.

Mr. Henley is survived by a step-son, Jack Reed of Washington, UT, two sisters, Elizabeth Nash of Memphis, Ethel Robbins of Tatumville, TN, and two brothers, Byron B. Henley of Somerville and Don M. Henley of Huntsville, AL.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Old Union Cemetery Association c/o Harry Wiles, 106 Marginal St., Somerville, TN 38068.
