James Robert "Jimmy" Krepela

Oakland, Tennessee

Jimmy Krepela, 82, of Oakland, TN, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 30, 1942, in Gouverneur, New York, and was loved by his parents, Eileen and Andrew Krepela.

Jimmy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished time spent with his family. He was married to the love of his life, Mary Jane, for 61 years, and together they built a life filled with love. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren.

Throughout his life, Jimmy was known for his strong work ethic, sense of duty, unwavering character, selflessness, and deep love for his family. He dedicated his life to serving his country and community. He was a Navy veteran and a retired Executive Major in the Memphis Police Department. He was known for his honor and integrity and earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. He enjoyed traveling with Mary Jane, Nerf gun fights with his grandsons, breakfast outings with the grandkids, and time with his loyal dog, Zoie.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jane; his children, Kim Hoard (Kelly) and Sean Krepela (Pattie); his grandchildren, Victoria Blackwell (Nick), Joseph Krepela (Abbey), Christian Barrom (Lanie), Luke Krepela, and Gabby Krepela, who all adored their beloved Poppy; and his great-grandchild, Isaac Blackwell. He is also survived by his sister, Laurel Marano (Paul). He is preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Matthew Krepela.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 27th, at Peebles West Chapel at Oakland, TN. A Celebration of Life Service was held at 12 noon on March 27, 2025. Interment with Military Honors followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64.

Jimmy will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.
