James Victor Jordan

March 6, 1962 — May 8, 2012

James Victor Jordan, Somerville resident and a person involved in the food service industry for much of his life died Tuesday morning, May 8, 2012 at his residence. He was 50 years of age and died unexpectedly of natural causes.

Services for Mr. Jordan will be at 12 noon on Saturday at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Williston. A visitation for Mr. Jordan will be from 10 Saturday morning to 12 Saturday afternoon at the Peebles Main Chapel in Somerville.

Mr. Jordan was born March 6, 1962 in Tucson, Arizona, the son of Wanda Moerbe Jordan and the late James Carol Jordan. Mr. Jordan received his education in various school systems throughout the United States during his father’s military career. Before his illness, he was employed for a number of years as a waiter for various area restaurants that included R.P. Tracks, a well-known Barbecue/Tofu Restaurant, located in the University of Memphis area.

Mr. Jordan was a Christian and was an avid traveler as long as health permitted. His interests were many and included sports, billiards, gambling, singing, dancing and fishing. He will be remembered for his devotion and serving as a caretaker for his mother during recent years.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Jordan is survived by two sisters, Linda Jordan Williams (Marvin) of Somerville, Debra A. Norris (Tom) of Collierville; his brother, Phillip Jordan of Somerville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to the Fayette County Humane Society, 595 Clement Drive, Rossville, TN 38066.
