James (Carlum) Voyles

Mr. James (Carlum) Voyles, age 78, resident of Highway 64 east of Somerville, retired mechanic and sheetrock contractor and husband of Betty Jo Parker Voyles died Friday morning, November 18, 2011 at his residence. Services for Mr. Voyles will be 2 Tuesday afternoon at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with interment in the Old Union Cemetery at Laconia. A visitation for Mr. Voyles will be 6 to 8 Monday evening at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, Mr. Voyles is survived by his daughter, Pamela L. Ferge (Jeff) of Somerville; two sons, James Cairl Voyles, Jr. (Debbie) of Whiteville, Michael E. Voyles of Whiteville; three sisters, Maudie Robinson of Pittsburgh, PA, Vaudie Williams of Memphis, Dureace Doyle of Oakland; his brother, Mitchel Voyles of Somerville; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mr. Voyles was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Clifton Voyles and Virgie Lee Kee Voyles; and two brothers, Audie Voyles and Dalton Voyles.
