JAMES BUNYAN (JIMMY) WHITE, a resident of the Bolivar Community and retired Insurance Agent died at 6:53 A.M. Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee where he had been a patient for one day. He was 64 years of age and died following a brief illness.
Funeral services for Mr. White were conducted at the Graveside at 3 P.M. Friday, June 26th at the Bailey Family Cemetery near Saulsbury, Tennessee with Rev. Loyd Shelton, Pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church in Collierville, officiating. Interment followed in the Bailey Family Cemetery at Saulsbury, Tennessee. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
A native of Hickory Valley, Tennessee in Hardeman County, Mr. White was born one of six children on October 26, 1944 to Ulysses Stanton "Buster" White and Esther Louise Sale White, who have both preceded him in death.
He attended Hardeman County Schools and graduated from the Grand Junction High School.
An Insurance Agent in earlier years, Mr. White was of the Baptist faith and held a special appreciation for gospel music.
An avid conversationalist, Mr. White will be remembered as a people person who enjoyed time at home with his family and friends and dining out at his favorite restaurants.
He was a proud grandfather to his six grandchildren who gave him much joy and inspiration. He was a lifelong resident of Hardeman County.
Survivors of Mr. White include three daughters: June Elizabeth Shamssolari of Bolivar; Pamela Annette Witt (James) of Middleton, TN and Kristi Marie Johnson (Michael) of Adamsville, TN; two sisters, Mary Phillips and Bonnie Hunsucker, both of Bolivar; two brothers, Hugh White and Don White, both of Bolivar and six grandchildren: Aaron Vandiver, Shannon Vandiver, Deanna Smith, Judy Shamssolari, Allissa Smith and Jared Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Anthony (Tony) White in 1989 and a brother, Gordon White in 2001.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Hugh White, Kevin White, Lynn White, Craig White, Joe Cole and Michael Johnson.
