James Shields Youngblood, age 88, passed away July 29, 2016. He was the son of Addie Lee and Shields Youngblood and was born in Water Valley, Mississippi.
He leaves his daughter, Sherrie Mason, son, James Ronald Youngblood, grandchildren, Kim Love (Brian) two great grandsons, Tristan Davis and Sam, James David Youngblood (Ashlee), Ben W. Mason II (Tracie), Brother Calvin, and Dr. Jenny Lee Youngblood DVM (Jason) of Agoura, Ca. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy and youngest son, Randy Wayne.
During World War II, he became a Journeyman Steamfitter at the age of 17 in Seattle, WA working on Submarines, returned to Memphis and has been a member of Steamfitters Union 614 since 1951. He Loved his children and their children dearly. He had the “Super Knack” and could build and fix anything, which he passed on to his two Grandsons, James David and Lil Ben. In early retirement he loved Traveling twice to Europe and riding his Ford 8N tractor at the Lake.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Youngblood were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
