James (Jackie) Edward Brown

James Edward (Jackie) Brown, resident of Corinth, Mississippi with extended family members in Fayette County died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the his residence. He was 63 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Brown were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, December 1st at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Tony Watkins of Moscow officiating. Interment followed in the Woods Cemetery in the Hickory Valley Community of Hardeman County. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Brown was born April 6, 1950 in Memphis, the son of Lula Kelley Brown and the late Jack Edward Brown. He received his education in the Shelby County Public School System and was a resident of Memphis in earlier years. He served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran.

He was self-employed as a carpet installer and worked in the construction industry for much of his life. Mr. Brown was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed outdoor activities that included fishing and waterskiing. Riding motorcycles was a favorite pastime in earlier years. He was a lifelong resident of Shelby and Hardeman Counties in Tennessee before moving to Corinth, Mississippi earlier this year.

Mr. Brown is survived by his daughter, Jamie Leigh Bynum of Southaven, MS; three sons, Harley Brown of Memphis, Brian Brown of Hernando, MS, Justin Brown of Horn Lake, MS; his mother, Lula Kelley Brown of Saulsbury; his brother, Michael C. Brown of Selmer, TN; and four grandchildren.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Woods Cemetery Association or to the church, charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
