James "Jim" Grable

February 22, 1963 — July 24, 2013

James Keith “Jim” Grable, resident of Memphis with extended family members in the Oakland and Somerville areas and a retired employee of Patterson’s Warehouse departed this life Wednesday morning, July 24, 2013 at his residence. He was 50 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Grable were conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, August 5th at the Whitten Memorial Baptist Church in Memphis with Bro. Jeff Shipley of the church officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Grable was born February 22, 1963 in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of the former Ella Mae Lovejoy and the late John Issac Grable. He received his education in the Muskingum County, Ohio Public School System and was married July 9, 1982 to the former Leah “Lisa” Riley, who survives. Mr. Grable was a former resident of Murray, Kentucky and Jackson, Tennessee before moving to the Shelby and Fayette County areas.

He was employed in the shipping and receiving department of Patterson’s Warehouse in Memphis before retiring for health reasons. Mr. Grable enjoyed camping, music, vehicle repairs, collecting model cars and family times with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of 31 years, Mr. Grable is survived by three daughters, Sheena Grable of Finger, TN, Brittany Grable of Memphis, Amy Grable of Memphis; three sons, James I. Grable of Memphis, Enon Grable of Memphis, Kyle Grable of Murray, KY; his mother, Ella Mae Edwards of New Concord, OH; his brother, John Edward Grable of Columbus, OH; and thirteen grandchildren.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Kyle Grable, Adrian Huffman, Jaime Hernandez, Gerardo Marin and Cortney Harrington.
