James "Jim" Moore Scarborough

James Moore “Jim” Scarborough, age 82, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and husband of Ann Craft Roberts Scarborough, departed this life Monday afternoon, October 8, 2018 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Scarborough was held at 12 Noon Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. David Johnson officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Scarborough was born January 4, 1936 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late James Robert Scarborough and Gertrude Evelyn Nettles Scarborough. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers High School in Memphis and was the owner of Oakland Heating & Air for many years. He was married June 24, 1990 to the former Ann Craft Roberts and he was of the Christian faith. Mr. Scarborough was a member of the Somerville Masonic Lodge Zaman Grotto, The Shriner’s and the Scottish Rite. He enjoyed dancing, traveling and woodworking.

Mr. Scarborough is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ann Craft Roberts Scarborough of Oakland, TN; three daughters, Dorrie Hendrix of Olive Branch, MS, Sherrye Roberts Britt (David) of Eads, TN, Shiela Roberts Bowers of Oakland, TN; four sons, John Scarborough (Janie) of Arlington, TN, Mark Scarborough of Memphis, TN, Steve Scarborough of Atoka, TN, Kenneth Roberts of Clearfield, UT; eighteen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
