James "Jim" O'Hara Williams

James O’Hara “Jim” Williams, age 69, resident of Oakland, United States Veteran and husband of Faye Williams, departed this life Tuesday morning, November 18, 2014 at the Rainbow Health & Rehab Center in Bartlett.

Services of Remembrance with Military Honors for Mr. Williams were conducted at 12 noon Monday, November 24th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Jason Moore, pastor of the Oakland First Baptist Church, officiating. A Private Interment will be in Nebraska. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Williams was born February 5, 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norval Williams and Mary Ridgley Williams. He was a graduate of Adams High School in Nebraska and continued his education at the Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis. He proudly served his country as an engineer in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War Period and was married in 1968 to the former Faye Greenlee, who survives. Mr. Williams was a resident of Oakland and a member of the Oakland First Baptist Church. He enjoyed puzzles, playing cards and chess games.

In addition to his wife of 46 years, Mr. Williams is survived by his daughter, Lisa S. Williams of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two sons, Neil B. Williams of Oakland, Philip Williams of Virginia Beach, Virginia; his sister, Norva Carpenter Seward of Nebraska; and his brother, Lindley Williams (Tanya) of Seward, Nebraska.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joel Williams and Norval Charles Williams, Jr.
