Jane Minerva “Janie” Manning Hunt, resident of Memphis, wife of the late Thomas Everett Hunt and mother of Monica Stanley Burrows of Rossville died Tuesday evening, February 12, 2013 at the Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville where she had been a patient for one week. She was 78 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Hunt will be conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, February 18th at the Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville. Interment will be private and arrangements were provided by the Piperton Office of Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center.
Mrs. Hunt was born November 18, 1934 in Westminster, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Manning and Edna Fern Chew Manning. She received her education in the Maryland and Virginia Public School Systems and was married to Thomas Everett Hunt, who preceded her in death ten years ago.
Mrs. Hunt was a Christian and was a former resident of Arizona for a number of years before moving to the Memphis area to be near her family. She was a homemaker throughout her life and will be remembered for her concern and care for animals with a special love for her cats. She loved anything outdoors and found much pleasure in living in Arizona, where she enjoyed the Western culture.
Mrs. Hunt is survived by her daughter, Monica Stanley Burrows, and husband, Phil of the Rossville Community; two granddaughters, Mandy Collins and Holly Pleasants; and her great grandson, Houston Collins.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Baptist Trinity Hospice House, 1520 W. Poplar Avenue, Collierville, TN 38017.
