Jane (Williamson) Tibbels

October 11, 1927 — January 16, 2017

Jane Williamson Tibbels, age 89, resident of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, departed this life Monday morning, January 16, 2017 at her residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Tibbels were conducted at 1 P.M. Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Dr. Kenneth Culver, pastor of the Warren Community Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment followed in the Hood Cemetery in the Warren Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Tibbels was born October 11, 1927 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawson Tucker Williamson and Alice Bettersworth Williamson. She received her education at the Tech High School in Memphis and was a resident of West and Middle Tennessee for much of her life.

Mrs. Tibbels was employed as an administrative assistant at the Millington Naval Air Station before her retirement and was most recently a member of the Antioch Methodist Church in Somerville, Tennessee. She enjoyed working in her yard, reading her devotion books, preparing food and special times with her family. Mrs. Tibbels had a special love for animals.

Mrs. Tibbels is survived by her daughter, Debra Knisley (Jeff) of Johnson City, TN; her son, John Tibbels of Old Hickory, TN; four grandchildren, Ginny Tibbels of Cordova, TN, John Joseph “Joe” Gibi (Kathleen) of Knoxville, TN, Thomas D. Knisley (Keri) of Simpsonville, SC, Tanya Knisley of Johnson City, TN; her great-granddaughter, Melanie; and her special friend, Debbie Batts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Tucker Tibbels.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were John Tibbels, Jeff Knisley, Joe Gibi, Tommy Knisley, Ginny Tibbels and Ronald Jenkins.
