Janie (Ginja) Virginia Rike

October 28, 1952 — April 6, 2013

Janie Virginia “Ginja” Rike, resident of the Williston Community, retired customer service employee and wife of Bill Troutt departed this life Saturday morning, April 6, 2013 at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. She was 60 years of age and died unexpectedly.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Rike were conducted at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, April 10th at the Williston United Methodist Church. The officiating ministers were Rev. Jim Graham, pastor of the church, and Rev. Paul Lore, pastor of Spring Hill United Methodist Church in Stanton, Tennessee. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery at Williston. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Rike was born October 28, 1952 in Somerville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph B. Rike and Inez McBryde Rike, early residents of the Williston Community. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a graduate of Fayette County High School, where she was a star basketball player. She attended the University of Memphis and was employed in the customer service department of Quebecor World Printing for much of her life. She was married May 26, 1990 to Bill Troutt, a construction manager, who survives. She was a longtime resident of Fayette County and lived in the Williston Community for the last 18 years.
Ginja was a lifetime member of the Williston United Methodist Church and was known in the community as a caring and loving person who always knew the right thing to do and say. Close family and friends realized how incredibly funny she was, especially when her alter ego "AINT GENEVA" took over the party. She was very involved with the Labrador Rescue and enjoyed helping others, fishing, gardening, arts and crafts and special times with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 23 years, Mrs. Rike is survived by her daughter, Crystal Troutt of Olive Branch, MS; two sons, Ben Hopper (Donna) of Olive Branch, MS, Brian Troutt (Jamie) of Bartlett; her sister, Cheryl J. Rike (Jim Wiles) of Williston; two brothers, James M. "Jim Mac" Rike (Darlene) of Williston, Joseph P. "Joe Pat" Rike (Donna) of Arlington; five grandchildren and several nephews and nieces who brought her great joy and happiness and will miss her wisdom, guidance and great sense of humor.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Jack Rike, Elliot Rike, Maylon Price, Jack Dawson, Randy Sutton and Ricky Bell.
Honorary casketbearers were Anthony Ratkus, Gary McCaskill, Randy Patterson and Bubba Lazenby.
