Jean Ted (Arnold) McLemore

Jean Ted Arnold McLemore, age 87, resident of the Hickory Withe Community and wife of the late Samuel A. McLemore, departed this life Wednesday evening, March 18, 2015 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. McLemore were conducted at 1 P.M. Monday, March 23rd at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Eddie Little, pastor of the First Baptist Church Hickory Withe, officiating. Interment followed in Memorial Gardens at Bartlett. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. McLemore was born June 3, 1927 in Trenton, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Taylor Arnold and Nell Freeman Arnold. She was a graduate of Spring Hill High School in Trenton and was married May 19, 1950 to Samuel A. McLemore, who preceded her in death on October 4, 2002. She was a homemaker throughout her life and a resident of the Memphis area for over 65 years.

Mrs. McLemore was a lifetime Christian and most recently a member of the First Baptist Church Hickory Withe. She enjoyed flower gardening, preparing food for family birthdays and dining out with her two sisters. Mrs. McLemore will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mrs. McLemore is survived by two daughters, Patsy Budlong (Johnny) of Eads, Gail M. Gay (Randy) of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Mary Williams of Germantown, Charlotte Lowry of Collierville; four grandchildren, Keith Budlong of Lakeland, Amy Byrd of Germantown, Robby Gay of St. Louis, MO, Rachel Hassan of St. Louis, MO; and five great grandchildren, Callie, Madelyn, Davis, Cameron and Kingston.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Scott Williams, Justin Sechrest, Sam Arnold, Lee Holt, Jake Nichols and Ed Arnold.

Calvin Smith was an honorary casketbearer.
