Jeanne Marie (Keene) Baker

January 2, 1923 — June 7, 2017

Jeanne Marie Baker, age 94, resident of Memphis and wife of the late Bill Baker, died Wednesday evening, June 7, 2017 at Ashton Place in Memphis.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Baker were conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Bartlett. A Fellowship Gathering followed the service at the church. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Baker was born January 2, 1923 in Scottville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl S. Keene and Mabel I. Pugh Keene. She attended and graduated school in Traverse City, Michigan and was married on August 1, 1944 to William HF Baker. They were residents of Livonia, Michigan, Englewood, Ohio and most recently, Memphis, Tennessee. She was employed in retail sales for clothing for many years before her retirement. Mrs. Baker was a very active member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Bartlett and was an avid homemaker who enjoyed special times with her family.

Mrs. Baker is survived by two sons, Brett Baker (Sheridan) of Memphis, TN, William Baker (Kimberly) of Memphis, TN; two daughters, Beverly Reaver (Jerry) of Montana, Sandra Mants of Ohio; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mac Keene and two sisters, Phyllis Babcock and Doris Martin.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Ashton Place Activity Fund, 3030 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis, TN 38111.
