JEANNE MAE McCASKILL ANDREWS, resident of Mt. Vernon, Texas and native of Fayette County, died Thursday morning, April 3, 2008, at her residence in Mt. Vernon, Texas. She was 80 years of age and died unexpectedly.
Funeral services for Mrs. Andrews were conducted at 10 A.M. Monday, April 6th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel in Oakland with Rev. Joe Jernigan, Associate pastor of the Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, officiating. Interment followed in Memory Hill Gardens Cemetery on Germantown Road at Bartlett. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home - West Chapel of Oakland.
Mrs. Andrews was born October 15, 1927, in Somerville, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Thomas Eugene McCaskill and the late Susie Vera Hogan McCaskill. She was educated in the public school system of Fayette and Shelby County and was married August 4, 1970, to Dayton Eugene "Andy" Andrews, Sales Representative for Sun Electric Corporation, who preceded her in death August 19, 1999.
Mrs. Andrews was a resident of the Memphis and Cordova areas for a number of years before moving to Texas six years ago to reside near her children. She was a homemaker throughout her life and was a devoted member of the Bellevue Baptist Church for many years before moving to Texas. She will be remembered as an avid reader who took much pride in her appearance and enjoyed special times with her family.
Mrs. Andrews is survived by her daughter, Lynn J. Davidson (James) of Winnsboro, Texas; her sons, Rickey E. Joyner of Canton, Texas, James R. Simpson of Hawthorne, California; her sister, Maxine Davis of Cordova; 9 nine grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Casketbearers were family members and friends and the family request that memorials be directed to the Bellevue Baptist Church, 4900 Appling Road, Memphis, TN.
