Jenny Ruth (Gramlick) Benson

Jenny Ruth Gramlick Benson, resident of the Fisherville Community in Fayette County and wife of David Andrew Benson, Jr. departed this life Saturday morning, August 24, 2013 at her residence. She was 64 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services and interment for Mrs. Benson were private and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Benson was born August 27, 1949 in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Gramlick and Wanza "Johnnie" Doolin Gramlick. She received her education in the Memphis City Public School System and was a graduate of Treadwell High School and continued her education at the University of Memphis and Art Academy.

Mrs. Benson was married July 4, 1981 to David Andrew Benson, Jr., a contractor, who survives. She was a member of the Miracle Baptist Church in Memphis and was a homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed sharing the gospel with children and young people and was associated with the Child Evangelism Fellowship of Memphis. Her interests included pottery and painting. She had been a resident of the Herb Parsons Lake area of the Fisherville Community for over 20 years.

In addition to her husband of 32 years, Mrs. Benson is survived by her daughter, Elisabeth Anna Benson of Collierville; five sons, Christopher Samuel Benson of Collierville, Geoff Benson of Collierville, Jon Benson of Collierville, Timothy Benson of Fayetteville, AR, David Benson of Evanston, IL; her sister, Nancy Hardin of Eads; her brother, Tom Gramlick of Cabot, AR; and seven grandchildren.
