Jerelda Joyce (Kemp) Bailey

Jerelda Joyce Kemp Bailey, age 79, resident of Somerville, departed this life Saturday evening, December 10, 2016 at the Pine Meadows Nursing Home in Bolivar.
Services of Remembrance for Ms. Bailey were conducted at 11 A.M. Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Tony Watkins of Moscow officiating. Interment followed in the Bthlehem Cemetery at Adamsville, Tennessee. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Ms. Bailey was born August 1, 1937 in Adamsville, Tennessee. She received her education in the McNairy County School System and was a former resident of the Finger Community before moving to Fayette County in 2009. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed sewing, embroidery and reading. Ms. Bailey was a homemaker throughout her life and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Ms. Bailey is survived by two sons, Bobby Joe Mathis (Hilda) of Eads, TN, Jimmy N. Mathis of Somerville, TN; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland Paschal Kemp and Clara Daphene Walker Kemp; her son, Gerald Wayne Mathis; her sister, Ann Russell; and her brother, Sonny Kemp.
Pallbearers were family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to the Residents of Pine Meadows Nursing Home, P.O. Box A, Bolivar, TN 38008-0389.
