Jerry Dolan Frost, resident of Collierville, retired employee for the National Bedding Company in Memphis and husband of the former Peggy Bobbitt of the Macon Community departed this life Monday morning, July 15, 2013 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville. He was 70 years of age and died following an illness of six months.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Frost were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, July 18th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Gary Joyner of Moscow officiating. Interment followed in the Macon Cemetery in the Macon Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Frost was born August 20, 1942 in Collierville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brodie Frost and Mildred Hart Frost. He received his education in the Collierville Public School System and was a graduate of the Collierville High School. He was married June 12, 1963 to the former Peggy Bobbitt of Fayette County, a retired employee of Things Remembered Gifts & Engraving in Cordova, who survives.
Mr. Frost was employed as a plant mechanic for the National Bedding Company in Memphis and the Tupelo Fiber Corporation before his retirement. He was a Christian and enjoyed gardening and fishing as long as health permitted. He will be remembered as a “Jack of All Trades”. He was an avid history buff and supporter of The Discovery Television Channel. He will be remembered by his family as a devoted husband, companion and father.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, Mr. Frost is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Malone (Jeff) of Oakland, Amanda Frost (Brian) of Collierville; his sister, Jeane Braxton of Valley Park, MS; his brother, Bobby Frost of Vicksburg, MS; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Frost.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Jeff Malone, Caleb Malone, Roger Trisler, Cade Trisler, Malcolm Lessell and Brian McKenzie.
