JERRY DON GRAY, JR.
June 7, 1955 — February 15, 2010
JERRY DON GRAY, JR., a resident of the Liberty Community in Fayette County, retired Machinist and husband of Vicki Logan Gray died Monday afternoon, February 15, 2010 at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis where he had been a patient for four days. He was 54 years of age and died following an illness of several months.
Celebration of Life Services were conducted for Mr. Gray at 2 P.M. Thursday, February 18th at the Liberty Baptist Church near Laconia with Rev. Jim Whitley, Pastor of the church, officiating. Interment was private and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Gray was born June 7, 1955 in San Diego, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Don Gray, Sr. and Virginia Lee Duncan Gray.
He moved at an early age to Tennessee with his family and was educated in the Fayette County Public School System, graduating from the Fayette Ware High School in Somerville.
Mr. Gray was employed as a Machinist for the Wright Medical Corporation in Arlington for a number of years and retired for health reasons in 1997.
He was married in October of 2006 to the former Vicki Lynn Logan, a native of Fayette County, who survives.
Mr. Gray was a former resident of Arkansas and had been a resident of Fayette County for forty years.
He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and will be remembered as a person who enjoyed music and playing the guitar. A fun-loving person throughout his life, he enjoyed story and joke telling and special times with his grandchildren.
He was an avid swimmer as long as health permitted and his other interests included gardening, fishing, nature and outdoor activities.
In addition to his wife, survivors of Mr. Gray include three sons: Jerry Don Gray, III of Rogers, AR; Marshall Neil Gray of Arlington and Derrick Van Gray of Somerville and four grandchildren.
