Jerry Lynn Gunn

Jerry Lynn Gunn, age 75, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and husband of Gwen Burch Gunn, departed this life Saturday evening, February 10, 2018 at his residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Gunn were conducted at 1 P.M. Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Kirk Baptist Church with Bro. Thomas Foy, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Hartselle, Alabama. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Gunn was born October 8, 1942 in San Francisco, California. He was a graduate of Terry Parker High School in Jacksonville, Florida and served his country in the United States Navy. He was married September 2, 1961 to the former Gwen Burch and was a member of Kirk Baptist Church. Mr. Gunn enjoyed working with horses, working with leather, gunsmithing, cars, basketball, family gatherings and playing board games and dominoes. He was an avid Memphis Tigers, Memphis Grizzlies and University of Alabama Crimson Tide fan.

Mr. Gunn is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gwen Burch Gunn; his sister, Pamela Hammer (Bob) of Brunswick, GA; his sister-in-law, Anita Ford (John) of Germantown, TN; his brother-in-law, John Burch (Sharon) of Lovell, ME; one niece, five nephews, two great nieces and two great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Ross Gunn; his mother, Evelyn Roddam Pate; and his brother-in-law, Jimmy Burch.
