Jerry Waymon Hart, age 68, resident of Bartlett and retired carpet installer, departed this life Friday, February 6, 2015 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Hart were conducted at 10 A.M. Friday, February 13th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Roy Cox, pastor of the New Hope Church of Christ in Glen, Mississippi, officiating. Interment with Military Honors followed at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Memphis. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Hart was born August 15, 1946 in Bragg City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Other Waymon Hart and Margaret Marie Harrison Hart. He received his education in the Pemiscot County, Missouri Public School System and was of the Baptist faith. He was a resident of Bartlett and employed as a carpet installer for many years before his retirement. Mr. Hart enjoyed outdoor activities that included fishing and hunting.
Mr. Hart is survived by his wife, Debbie Sanders Hart of Gallaway; his son, John Damon Phillips of Bartlett; four sisters, Dorothy Lowrance of Olive Branch, MS, Mary Jane Armstrong (Roger) of Barton, MS, Patricia Hart of Olive Branch, MS, Susan Ferguson (Jay) of Olive Branch, MS; his brother, Donald Hart (Debbie) of Asheville, NC; two grandchildren, Jaden Phillips, Skylar Phillips; and his partner of 18 years and best friend of 30 years, Margaret Cox of Bartlett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Woody and his brother, Rodger Hart.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Juvenile Diabetes Research, 498 Halley Parkway, Collierville, TN 38017.
