Jerry T. Holt, Sr.

Jerry T. Holt, Sr., age 82, resident of Oakland and husband of the late Ouida Ann Rawlings Holt, died Tuesday afternoon, August 1, 2017 at his son's residence in Oakland.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Holt were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Stephanie Patton, minister of the Oakland Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Holt was born June 1, 1935 in Bells, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt G. Holt and Leomer Bertha Kee Holt. He attended Midway Elementary School and owned a carpet store on the town square in Collierville for ten years and was in the vending machine industry before his retirement. He was married May 15, 1956 to the former Ouida Ann Rawlings Holt, who preceded him in death on November 4, 2012. Mt. Holt was of the Christian faith and enjoyed watching television, especially the news, listening to talk radio and visiting with his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

Mr. Holt is survived by his daughter, Judy L. Wilson (Joe) of New Albany, MS; two sons, Jerry T. Holt, Jr. (Suzanne) of Jackson, TN, David A. Holt (Susan) of Oakland, TN; three sisters, Margie Williams of Brownsville, TN, Billie Winbush of Jackson, TN, Betty King of Jackson, TN; his brother, Bobby R. Holt (Jeanette) of Jackson, TN; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
