JERRY MICHAEL PITTMAN

June 14, 1963 — August 10, 2009

JERRY MICHAEL PITTMAN, a resident of Bemis, Tennessee with extended family members in Fayette County died at 7:45 P.M. Monday, August 10, 2009 at his home. He was 46 years of age and died following a three-week illness.

Funeral services for Mr. Pittman were conducted at 11 A.M., Thursday, August 13th at the Church of God on Old Pinson Road in Jackson with Rev. Charles Vandiver, Pastor of the church, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Ronnie Wilbourne, Pastor of the Meridian Baptist Church in Jackson. Interment followed in the Wyatt Cemetery at Hornsby, Tennessee. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Pittman was born June 14, 1963 in Memphis. He was preceded in death by his father, Murphy Charles Pittman. He is survived by his mother, the former Annie Bolden of the Williston Community in Fayette County.

Mr. Pittman was of the Christian faith and was a self-employed construction and floor covering contractor in the Jackson area for a number of years before retiring for health reasons in 2008.

He was married June 5, 1981 to the former Paula Page of Jackson, who survives.

He will be remembered as a people person who enjoyed fishing and being with his grandchildren, family members and friends.

In addition to his wife of twenty-eight years, Mr. Pittman is survived by his daughter, Martha Pittman of Bemis, TN; two sons, Charles Pittman and Wesley Pittman, both of Bemis, TN; his mother, Annie Bolden Pittman of Pinson, TN; two sisters, Linda White of Jackson, TN and Lisa Cox of Pinson, TN; two brothers, Wayne Pittman of Jackson, TN and Charles Pittman of Pinson, TN and two grandchildren, Madicyn Pittman and Mikinzi Pittman.

Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Charles Wayne Pittman, Wesley Lynn Pittman, Bradley White, Ritchie White, Jason Taylor and Perry Page, Jr.

Brian Liggett and Randy Ross served as honorary casket bearers.

The family requests that memorials be directed to church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.
