Jerry Wayne Rhea

September 9, 1945 — October 20, 2016

Jerry Wayne Rhea, age 71, resident of Moscow, departed this life Thursday evening, October 20, 2016 at the Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Rhea were conducted at 11 A.M. Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Moscow with Bro. David Parlow, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Rhea was born September 9, 1945 in Marshall County, Mississippi. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System. He served as an Alderman for the City of Moscow and was a painter throughout his life. He was also employed at Wonderhouse in Collierville for 22 years and at Troxel Manufacturing in Moscow before retiring for health reasons. Mr. Rhea was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed vacationing and special times with his family.

Mr. Rhea is survived by three brothers, J.W. Rhea (Reba) of Munford, TN, Sterling Rhea (Sandy) of Byhalia, MS, Danny Rhea (Lanelle) of Moscow, TN and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. “Buck” Rhea and Lillie Allen Rhea and his sister, Betty Rhea.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were John Paul Crisp, John Mitchell Crisp, Dewayne Rhea, Steve Rhea, Little Jerry Rhea and David Morrison. Honorary pallbearers were Terry Rhea, Steve Holmes, Henry Diffee, Willie Conners, Gabe Crisp and Mark Rhea.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1960 Oak Grove Drive, Moscow, TN 38057.
