JERRY LYNN "TIP" VOYLES, a resident of the Gallaway Community and a native of Haywood County died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett where he had been a patient for three weeks. He was 49 years of age and died following an illness of several months.
Funeral services for Mr. Voyles were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, January 10th at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Wayne Webb, Pastor of the Macon Road Baptist Church in Memphis, officiating. Interment will follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.
Mr. Voyles was born in Haywood County on May 4, 1959 the son of Verna Lee Waddell and the late Ruben Earl Voyles. He was of the Christian faith and a lifelong resident of Haywood, Shelby and Fayette County.
Survivors of Mr. Voyles include his mother, Verna Lee Waddell of Gallaway; two sisters, Brenda Boatwright of Memphis and Pam Moore of Bartlett and three brothers: Robert Earl Voyles of Arlington, Allen Voyles of Memphis and John Lindsey of Covington.
