Jessie Arden Fulcher, Sr.

December 23, 1919 — December 30, 2014

Jessie Arden “Mr. Jessie” Fulcher, Sr., age 95, resident of the Williston Community, former longtime resident of Brighton, United States Army Veteran and husband of the late Julia Mayo Fulcher, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, December 30, 2014 at his residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Fulcher will be at 2 P.M. Wednesday, January 7th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with visitation one hour before services. Interment with Military Honors will be at 10:15 A.M. Friday, January 9th at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery near Germantown. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Fulcher was born December 23, 1919 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Champion Dale Fulcher and Vera Staggs Fulcher. He received his education in the Tuscaloosa County, Alabama Public School System and was married for 70 years to Julia Mayo Fulcher, who preceded him in death on January 30, 2011. He served his country in the United States Army as a young person and was employed as an electrician at the University of Tennessee Medical School before his retirement.

Mr. and Mrs. Fulcher were residents of the Brighton Community for over 40 years and were of the Church of God faith for over 70 years where he was a Sunday School Superintendent for 50 years. He enjoyed training horses and coon hunting.

Mr. Fulcher is survived by his son, Rev. Artie Fulcher, Jr. (Cheri) of Williston; two sisters, Helen Smith Dunn of Eupora, MS, Francis Buck of Madison, MS; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Van Fulcher and two brothers, James Fulcher and C.D. Fulcher.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers will be Micah Fulcher, Chris Fulcher, Randy Glover, Justin Ricks, Trevor Ricks and John Thornhill.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Shady Grove Christian Center, 1315 Shady Grove Road, Williston, Tennessee 38076.
