Jessie Marie (Kelley) Miller

Jessie Marie Kelley Miller, resident of the Somerville Community and wife of Fred D. Miller, departed this life Thursday afternoon, February 20, 2014 at the Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville where she had been a patient for six days. She was 81 years of age and died following a brief illness.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Miller were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, February 28th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with visitation one hour before services. Graveside Services were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, March 1st at the Hanover Cemetery in Cousa County, Alabama. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Miller was born January 5, 1933 in Rockford, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tolbert Neal Kelley and Beanie Boyett Kelley. She received her education in the Alabama Public School System and continued her education at the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama. She was married May 20, 1955 to Fred Donald Miller, a native of Birmingham, Alabama and retired banker and finance employee, who survives.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker throughout her life and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Collierville at the time of her death. Mr. and Mrs. Miller were former residents of Birmingham, Alabama before moving to the Somerville Community eight years ago. She was an avid reader who enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. She will be remembered as a family-oriented person who was devoted to her church.
In addition to her husband of 58 years, Mrs. Miller is survived by two daughters, Donna Jean Johnson of Chandler, AZ, Lynn Tully of Decatur, AL; two sons, Neal Miller of Bartlett, Barry Miller of Oakland; her brother, Dr. David Kelley of Nashville; and eleven grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Mrs. Miller’s grandsons, Derek Tully, Bradley Johnson, Jacob Miller, Mark Tully, Matthew Tully and Mason Miller.
Honorary casketbearers were Mrs. Miller’s grandsons, Nicholas Miller and Benjamin Miller.
