JESSIE PLEMMONS SMITH

November 27, 1915 — August 19, 2009

JESSIE PLEMMONS SMITH, a resident of Piggott, Arkansas, former resident of the LaGrange Community in Fayette County and wife of the late James Edward Smith died Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, Missouri. She was 93 years of age.

Funeral services for Mrs. Smith were conducted Friday, August 21st with Mike Book, officiating. Interment followed in the Gracelawn Cemetery at Tuckerman, Arkansas. Local arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Smith was born November 27, 1915 in Guion, Arkansas, to Jessie Albert and Gordia Estella Bangs Plemmons, who have both preceded her in death.

Mrs. Smith was a resident of Fayette County for a number of years and moved to Arkansas to be near her family after the death of her late husband, James Edward Smith of LaGrange.

She will be remembered by many Fayette Countians for her outgoing personality while serving as the morning dining room hostess at the former Hardee's Restaurant in Somerville.

Survivors of Mrs. Smith include her son, Danny Helms and wife Nancy of Piggott, AR; five grandchildren: Mary Denise Small and husband Harold of Pollard, AR; J. C. Helms and wife Tonya of Piggott, AR; Kim Helms of Conway, AR; Trisha Allenbrand of Paolo, KS and Vicki Allenbrand of Dacula, GA; eight great-grandchildren: Zachary Redmon, Alex Redmon, Natalie Small, Whitley Blue, Mason Henry, Jaclyn Helms, Nicolas Helms, Timber Allenbrand and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.
