JIMMIE REYNOLDS BELT

JIMMIE PAULINE REYNOLDS BELT, resident of Memphis and former of the Somerville and Whiteville Community areas departed this life Friday afternoon, April 30, 2010 at her residence. She was 89 years of age and died following a 3 month illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Belt were conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, May 4th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Robert Crews, Pastor of the New Life Fellowship Church in Memphis, officiating. Special remarks were given by Claudia Forest and Katie Duty. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Belt was born in Whiteville, TN on September 10, 1920, the daughter of the late Thomas Melton and the late Maudie Ross Melton. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a former resident of Fayette and Hardeman Counties before moving to Memphis to make her home a number of years ago. She was a homemaker throughout her life and was a devoted member of the Pentecostal Church for many years. Mrs. Belt will be remember as a person who enjoyed life and found much pleasure in quilting, reading and watching her favorite television programs. She had a lifelong love for music that included playing the piano, organ and accordion.
Survivors of Mrs. Belt include two daughters: Connie Parish (Paul)of Memphis and Bonnie Thomas (Kyle) of Red Banks, MS.; two sons: Lyn Reynolds (Kim) of Sugar Tree, TN. and Terry Reynolds (Janice) of Scotts Hill, TN.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Belt was preceded in death by her son Jerry Corder (Teresa) of Byhalia, MS.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Bobby Sherman, Jerry Corder, Jr., Michael Reynolds, Terry Reynolds, Jr., Eddie Reynolds, J.W. Reynolds and Danny Reynolds.
